A 15-year-old babysitter was convicted of the murder of a toddler.
The toddler was beaten, bitten and her hair sheared off by the babysitter Karl McCluney. He was supposed to look after the two-year old while her mother was picking up a child benefit cheque and a birthday card. Karl admitted manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility but denied murder. The court heard that the attack on the toddler was so ferocious that it led to permanent brain damage by the toddler. The injuries were from getting beat in the face repeatedly. After the attack he left the toddler lying unconscious on a mattress and watched some television. When the mother returned home she started screaming and asking why he did not called an ambulance. Karl answered that he did not do anything.
I think this is horrible, I am also wondering how this can happen in 90 minutes. As a mother you will never trust anyone around your children again. I am even wondering if this mother will be a mother again since the toddler was the only child. I think that it is very good that the court rejected the claim of Karl and I do hope he will get many years in prison. Maybe it is also a good idea to make sure he get’s some mental help and maybe there will be an explanation of why he did this. I do believe the mother also needs mental help to deal with all of this.

Man got shot...

A gunman chased a man into a crowed restaurant and shot him in the leg. All the people that were dinning in the restaurant and were enjoying a nice dinner were able to see the whole shooting. Every guest in the restaurant told the police they throwed themselves on the floor at the moment the gunman opened fire towards his victim. Police said that the victim is not a life-threatening situation and he will survive. One eyewitness told the police that he saw the victim running through the restaurant and that the gunman suddenly showed up in the restaurant wearing a helmet on his head and he had two automatic guns in his hands. The reason for the shooting remains unknown.
I almost had to laugh when I read this article. It reminds me to the film the terminator! Running victim chased by gunman wearing a helmet! It was difficult to find a fitting motivation for this crime because it was a blood sport. The two men did this probably because they liked and enjoyed killing. The two men were brought to court by the RSPCA and they told the public that the two men were digging at the setts near Witchurch when they got caught. The sentence will be sett in July.
This is horrible, I always wonder how in H*LL do you come up with the idea to torture an animal! Try to take someone your own size and strength but not a harmless little animal! Men like this really should be send to jail, they are a danger to everyone/thing that is not able to defend itself! Emma griffin admitted downloading 464 indecent pictures of children at her home. The police noticed that some of the photos show babies being abused. The sentence is not completely decided but she will remain in custody. Emma is also placed on the sex offenders register. The police came on the track of Griffin after a tip. They went to her home and took her computer and hard drive to collect evidence. Before the focus was on Griffin, the police first interviewed her partner. They realised that Emma Griffin was the owner of all the kiddy porn and they found out that all the pictures were free or paid by with her credit card. The judge is still not done with this case, this man is still wondering if he should see the pictures to see what kind of offender Emma is, but he prefers not to see the photo's. The reason why not is because he does not want to convict anyone out of anger.

Cat survives in container!

A cat survived being trapped in a container over a month. The cat kept himself alive by licking condensation of the side of the container. When a electrician finally discovered the cat, he was seriously dehydrated and far under his ideal weight. His owner said she was overjoyed to have her cat back. She put up some posters of her missing cat but when he did not returned she thought he was ran over by a car. She even got herself a brand new kitten. The electrician told that he was going over some stock when he saw something moving in the corner of his eyes. When he realised it was he cat he knew the animal must be in danger because no one visited the containers for the last four weeks. Everyone hopes that the cat named ‘socks’ will be a bit more cautious in the future.
This was a nice story to read, something else then all the murder and jail stuff. It is nice that the cat is saved and doing well. I do think it is a bit strange that you get yourself a new kitten immediately when your other cat is missing. And this case shows you that you never know if your own cat decides to turn up one day, with or without some help.

There has been an investigation into maternity service in Wales and that investigation highlighted some serious concerns from staff trainees till pregnant women. The Auditor General for Wales, said that it will be necessary to create a national strategy to tackle these problems. The report pointed especially the support for infant feeding and the way labour was managed out. New mothers were also heard during the investigation and it turned out that they were satisfied but one third of the women said they were not always treated even kind and friendly during the postnatal period, there was also not much understanding for their problems and questions. The government will try to create a trainee programme for Wales if they have some extra money. This will make sure that every county has the same quality of midwifes.
I think this is a great idea. Pregnant women and new mothers should be treated even kind and friendly in every part of Wales. I also think it is unacceptable that in some areas the help and support of the midwifes is lower than low. The maternity plan should make everything more easy for everyone and so I think this plan should running by the time the new year begins. The 68 year-old Mr Thornley was found by his fishing friends after he did not attended a fishing competition. He was found in a pool of blood. Thornley died three weeks later in the hospital. The 16 year old boy admitted manslaughter but his plea was rejected and he is convicted of murder, he has a minimum of 17 years in jail before he can get out on parole. The police arrested the boy two days after the attack and they found several evidence. Blood on his shoes and spare keys of Thornley in the boys bedroom. The police is glad to see that the boy has been punished.
I think this still not enough of a punishment. This 16 year old boy is able to get out of jail after 17 years, this will mean that he can be free at the age 33 what means he might be able to create a new life again. I think that the boy deserves a real lifetime sentence because he did kill somebody. 17 years is not long enough, the boy should stay in jail until his death.

A baby was diagnosed with incurable meningitis but she made a miraculous recovery after the life saving machine was turned off.
The baby was six weeks old when the mother took her to the hospital for the first time. There turned out he had a very rare brain disease. The mother spent four day in the intensive care with her baby until the family opted to switch off the life support equipment and finally the mother agreed with that decision. But when the machine was turned of a miracle happend; the baby whose nickname is Amazing Grace, started breathing on her own.
The baby was discharged after a couple of days but will remain blind for her life.
I think this is wonderful news. The parents have gone through an awful time and they are now given an almost healthy girl. The fact that she will remain blind is something that is quite unfair but I think everyone has to keep in mind that this girl is alive and that she might be able to live a close to normal life when she grows up.

A seven-year-old girl died of starvation. She was kept prisoner by her mother and her mother’s partner. The girl has been starving for probably weeks or months. The court was told the girl Khyra died of an infection but the prosecutors say it was murder because the couple tried to harm khyra. In 2007 Khyra world has changed. Her happy life came to an end when her parent split up and Junaid Abuhamza became her mothers new boyfriend. From the moment he walked through the door he made sure the children did not get enough food and locked them up in a room. The mother took Khyra out of school and made sure no one could come in to visit. The jurors were told that UK doctors had rarely seen such a severe case of malnutrition. The mother and her boyfriend are charged with murder en severe child cruelties.
I find it hard to believe that a mother can take good care for her children for years and than suddenly changes into some cruel woman. I also wonder why children can be taken out of school and that no one will ever check if those children are okay and doing well. I do think that if you could keep children in school, things like this will not happen because their will be some social pressure. The mother and her boyfriend should go to prison for lifetime, in cases like this I am almost sorry that we do not use the death-sentence anymore.

Sexually assaulted is probably one of the worst things that can happen to you. I think it is very good the police tries to get the attacker and that the victim described the attacker very well. It is very dangerous that this attack happened in the park, because many people walk home through the park after I night out. I think the police should watch the park at night for a couple of weeks to make sure this does not happen again.

On the 18th of May a 69-year-old man died because the working paramedic has ended his day. The paramedic drove to his ambulance station instead of taking the patient to a hospital. The ride from the victims house to the hospital would take less than 10 minutes but the paramedic thought it was the end of his day. The delay meant that the patient was 30 minutes later in the hospital instead of 10 minutes. A NEAS (North East Ambulance Trust) spokesman said the paramedic and a technician are suspended and there will be a investigation. The NEAS was immediately reported about this incident by another staff member. Fom that moment forwards there has been taken many steps towards the paramedic and after care for the family of the patient. The family will be updated about further developments.
I think the paramedic made a huge mistake, his priority has to be to save people even after his day of work ended. I also think the paramedic should not be suspended but he should be fired and never be able to work in the health care again. This action actually was not a mistake but a decision he made. This paramedic decide to let this man die instead of giving him a chance to survive. Start school at age six ?

A mature part of the education staff seems to think that children should not start with school under the age of six. The reasons therefore are that children of the age of six and seven are emotionally ready, social able, physically content and mature enough to start learning. Children of the age of four are not ready for school because they can not handle the curriculum, these children first have to learn the thrill of learning before they actually can start learning the curriculum, but when it comes to ages there is a lot of parental pressure to start school as early as possible so they can go back to work. Therefore a spokeswomen for the Department of Children has said that the age of five would have positive benefits on attainment.
